On the
Journey...with Alan Vanderkolk
June 8,
2009
I had a great time in Israel and a safe trip back home. This was my
longest trip to Israel, almost 5 weeks. It went by fairly fast and
I was plenty busy. I
mentioned in my updates that a majority of my time at Biblical Tamar
Park was spent on a remodeling project. As you know, Earl and Trish
Pickard and I are helping with the prayer emphasis at this
archeological site. We now have a place here set aside for prayer
and study. I converted a kitchen and living room area into a prayer
and study room.

Now small groups or individuals have a place where they can go to
spend time with the Lord, even late at night or in the wee hours of
the morning. I took a lot of those latent handyman skills taught to
me by my father over the years and put them to good use. I have
included a picture. There will be a few more chairs for people to
use and some prayer banners placed on the wall, but this gives you
some idea of how it looks now. I also helped with some other
maintenance while at the park. At a big facility like this, there
are always many little things to take care of.
Now
that I am back home, I am working on a promotional DVD which will share
about places where people can pray in the desert wilderness while
staying at Biblical Tamar Park. I am using pictures that I and others
have taken while on our prayer missions to Israel, setting them to music
and overlaying an audio tract spoken by Earl Pickard with a script that
he wrote. We have already worked on a couple of others.
I am planning to be back
at Biblical Tamar Park in October with the tour that Earl and Trish
Pickard are putting together. Maybe we will see you there.
Grace and
Peace (Shalom),
