Archaeology Maintenance

  1. Fill and lay sand bags on excavated walls

  2. Clean leaves and falling debree from excavated areas

  3. Remove blown sand from inside and outside excavated walls & rooms

  4. Rake and level open areas

  5. Repair signs and explanatory posters

Trees and Irrigation

  1. Turn on irrigation system and check all lines and connections

  2. Repair or replace broken equipment

  3. Install new lines as drawn on area watering plan

Building Repair

  1. Dining Commons

  • Lift tiles, take out roots, and level floor

  • Clean out sink and drain

  • Repair stove and level stove/ovens

  • Repair refrigerator

  • Paint interior of kitchen and dining commons

  • Remove junk and sand from the rooms

  • Replace bad plumbing and repair sink and toilet

  • Rewire lights and outlets

  • Cement necessary steps

  • Rebuild doors

  • Clean and oil all air conditioners (desert coolers)

  • Repair and wash all windows

  • Nail/screw all loose paneling on the walls and ceiling

  1. Kitchen and Housekeeping

  • Process and prepare food for volunteers

  • Clean up and put away kitchen pans and wipe off tables

  • Wash kitchen towels and organize laundry

  • Wash clothing and return to owners

  • Wash bed linens and make beds for next group

  • Hang hand tools on walls in categories
